In just 7 months of owning this trailer, we’ve already found it difficult to chose a single adventure to share, but here it goes!
I think our favorite to tell is the story of our trailer pick-up road trip.
We drove up from San Diego over the course of 2.5 days and arrived in Tigard ready, as adventurers totally new to towing, without a ball hitch. So after a quick trip to Home Depot, we were off! I mention that part of the story simply to explain how comically new we were to towing and how quickly we both got the hang of hooking up, driving and maneuvering the trailer — it’s a breeze!
This road trip to Oregon took us through Portland (and the Nike Company Store, of course!); over to the Columbia River Gorge for a scenic drive; East to John Day Fossil Beds & Painted Hills where we spent the day biking the open roads to see the National Monuments (thanks to our rear hitch!) and Dayville (where we found our favorite campsite of all time and a killer swimming hole); down to Crater Lake and Little Lava Lake Campgrounds, where the views quite literally cannot be beat; to the Lava Beds National Monument for some spelunking in total darkness; down through the Brookings coastline and some more biking, and Jedediah Smith Redwoods where we hiked among the giants; and finally over into Reno for a little something different (and a valet who was a little too excited for the challenge of parking us).
Throughout our journey, we couldn’t make a single stop without someone approaching us to talk about the trailer. We loved spreading the word about Aero and our experience.
The trailer has enabled us to hit the road for weeks on end without having to shell out for a hotel after 3 nights of sleeping on the ground.
We pack the back kitchen area with tons of food and barely have reason to find civilization at any point (also, thanks Roadshower and solar panels). We have even set-up the trailer in our driveway as a fun option for our house guests to sleep in!
