Steel, Steel HC, and Burnside Model Trailers
Winterization Package
Winterizing your camper ensures it stays safe over the winter; if you don’t properly winterize your RV, you risk it becoming damaged and uninhabitable. When you’re winterizing a camper, you need to go through some important processes, including cleaning, draining, and winter-proofing the pipes and electricals (as these can be damaged in the cold). This service is for trailers that have plumbing for the water tank, shower, and or sink.
- Prepare plumbing for winter
- Inspect seals
- Inspect wiring and connections
Price: $95
Completion Time: 1 hour
10% off trailer cover for Steel models with service.
Health Check Package
A trailer health check is a good way to give your trailer a once over to make sure that nothing obvious needs to be repaired or replaced. It will normally only take about 60 minutes to carry out, so it’s a quick and easy way to give yourself peace of mind that your camping trailer is in good condition and has had all the work it needs.
It’s also a great chance to spot any small issues with your trailer that could become bigger issues if they’re left unfixed. This way, you’ll often be able to save money in the long run by nipping any problems in the bud nice and early. We use either green or red lithium grease in the axle bearings and Timbren also uses lithium grease for their bushings.
- Suspension torque check
- Bearings
- Hitch safety
- Inspect seals
- Tire rotation
- Brake inspection

Retrofit Packages
Your trailer can be retrofitted with the following add-ons after your trailer has been purchased.
Propex Heating System Retrofit
The Propex HS2000 is an extremely energy-efficient and economical propane gas fired furnace. It is an automatic, thermostatically controlled, blown air heating system. The Propex HS2000 Heatsource Furnace is designed especially for small camping trailers to keep you warm and comfortable during every season.
- Propex unit
- Regulated hardline propane system
- Propane mount
- 5 lb. propane tank
- LP detector
- Quick release system
The Propex system can be retrofitted for Steel and Burnside trailers with both the classic and modern cabinetry. For trailers with classic cabinetry, the Propex system is installed in a wooden box in the lower cabinet of the trailer interior, leaving room for storage. The center console is enlarged to house the Propex vent and thermostat.
In trailers with modern cabinetry, the Propex system is installed in a wooden box in the lower cabinet of the kitchen galley, leaving room for storage within the cabinet. The interior center console houses the thermostat, and the vents are in the lower interior bulkhead.

20 Gallon Water Tank Retrofit
The 20 gallon fresh water tank gives you fresh water on-demand for your sink, external shower, drinking water, cooking, or anything else you might need freshwater for.
- 20 gallon water tank
- Aluminum water tank tray
- Water pump
- Quick release hose system
The 20-gallon water tank is housed within an aluminum tray for protection and is mounted underneath the trailer between the suspension arms. One inch of ground clearance is lost for this installation. The 12v water pump is operated by a switch installed in the kitchen galley, and a brass hose valve and quick release combination is used for filling and dispensing water.

External Shower Retrofit
Stay comfortable and enjoy all the luxuries of modern living on the road as you explore everything nature has to offer. Easy retrofit installations mean you can install the water heater on any RV or camper model. Get your desired temperature and steady flow, just like home, with the water heater’s intelligent control system. Take showers, rinse off, or do the dishes with the powerful shower head.
- Camplux on-demand water heater
- Externally mounted Pelican hard case
- Showerhead
- Quick release system
The shower retrofit will need a propane tank to operate the hot water, which can be purchased as an add-on (if you don’t already have one installed and would be an additional charge), or you can provide your own standalone tank. The external shower is mounted above the driver’s side fender and the 20-gallon water tank is mounted underneath the galley of the trailer. The shower components have quick release connections for the showerhead and 4′ water hose and 4′ propane hose (included). Note that the external shower will need a propane tank to operate the hot water. If your trailer does not already have one, a tank can be purchased as an add-on, or you can provide your own standalone tank.
Price: $700 for shower and $2,200 for shower and 20-gallon water tank bundle.
Completion Time: 3-7 hours
Full Size Spare Tire Retrofit
We all know that a spare tire is a form of insurance. Those of us who carry a spare tire do so to be prepared in the event of a blowout, flat, or another form of damage to one of our RV (or vehicle) tires. Generally speaking, we carry a spare in case we’re stranded and need to replace a tire in order to get back on the road.
- Powder coated bracket
- Full size spare
The side-mounted spare is available for our Steel and Burnside models and located on the passenger side of the trailer on a powder coated bracket. It comes with a full-size spare tire that matches the existing tires on your trailer. Note that the side table (both regular and extended) will work with this retrofit.
