Teardrop Trailer Spring Camping Tips

We’ve selected a few commonly asked questions & shared tips to make spring camping in your teardrop trailer even more comfortable!

Cabin Heater

We’ve seen some pics of our teardrops out camping in the snow this season – we love it!! Because Aero Teardrop trailers stay pretty warm on their own, there isn’t a huge need for an added heater but when we think we might need one, we like to use the Handy Heater. The Handy Heater’s power port swivels so it works in any of the #AeroTeardrops cabin or galley outlets. We recently posted about this on Instagram and received some feedback/questions, you can view them here. We’d love to know if you have a favorite option for your tiny trailer that we can try out and possibly recommend. Drop us an email or share your comments below!

Teardrop Canopy / Enclosure

Spring camping in the Pacific Northwest is beautiful and unpredictable.  You can’t see it a ton here, but we recently used the 10’x10’ Quik Shade Weekender Elite with Annabelle on a camping trip to L.L. “Stubb” Stewart Park. We used the optional side walls to extend the weather-proof goodness of the teardrop over the galley and loved it. Adding a heater kept us so cozy! A weatherproof rug, chairs and multi-purpose table pair perfectly with the standard bluetooth stereo speakers in the galley.

Teardrop Trailer Cover – A Facebook Group Post

If you aren’t storing your teardrop in your garage (because, we get it – boxes, bikes, snow tires…) this was a cool post recently made on the Hook up & GO Facebook Group:

Tip: Need a cover for your Aero Teardrops Steel trailer? The Classic Accessories PolyPro3 Teardrop cover works pretty well and can be found for under $100. The model 2 (8-10′ x 5′ wide) is the one you want (80-297-153101-RT) if you don’t have a lot of stuff on the roof. Might have to go to the model 3 to work with racks, awnings, etc. Here are some photos of the cover on our trailer. You can view more pictures of the cover on the teardrop here.

If you haven’t joined the group yet, click here. You don’t have to be a teardrop owner, we’re sharing all kinds of camping resources and tips/tricks – so, come along! It’s really fun to see members of the group asking questions, sharing favorite campsites and making plans to meet up. Hmmm… maybe we should have an Aero Teardrops trailer reunion/roundup?

Random Tip

We love this Muddy Shoes hack from The Bright Writer for spring camping or basically any camping throughout the Pacific Northwest. Tag us with your outdoor hacks so we can share them in newsletters and online! Using the hashtag #AeroTeardrops works across all networks.

It’s really exciting to see how owning a teardrop trailer is allowing people to add more months to the year of being able to comfortably enjoy nature. We hope to see you out there soon!
